PHILADELPHIA -- The 41-year-old World Economic Forum (WEF) which traditionally focused its health care initiatives on underdevelopment countries has, in recent years, broadened the scope of those activities to encompass health care reform issues across the entire industrialized world. In his address to the 2012 Wharton Alumni Health Care Conference, Gary Phillips, the head of the organization's Health Industries Division, detailed how WEF research teams are now working with governments throughout Europe and Asia to establish strategic healthcare system reform goals to be achieved by the year 2040.
